Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the SailorFanTalk app. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not, please do not create one — you can still read the app without it.

What this app is

SailorFanTalk is an independent app made by supporters, covering Lion City Sailors. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or operated by Lion City Sailors FC, the Singapore Premier League, or any other official body. Opinions in it are those of its contributors.

It is free to use, and there is nothing to buy in it.

Your account

• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One account per person. Extra accounts created to gain an advantage in the predictions game may be removed along with their scores.
• Choose a display name that is not offensive and does not impersonate another person, the club, its players or its staff. Names are checked automatically, and an imperfect check does not make an unacceptable name acceptable.
• Tell us promptly if you think someone else is using your account.

The predictions game

The game is free to enter and is played for enjoyment. There is no entry fee, no stake and no prize, unless we announce one separately in writing.

• Predictions for a match close one hour before kickoff. This is enforced by the app and cannot be worked around.
• Until a match kicks off, your prediction is yours alone. Attempting to obtain other players' predictions before kickoff is a breach of these terms.
• Points are awarded by the published rules: an exact scoreline scores highest, then the correct goal difference, then the correct result. Each prediction earns one of those, not the sum.
• Scores are worked out from match data supplied by SofaScore. That data can be wrong, late or incomplete, and we are not able to guarantee it. We may correct the leaderboard if a result changes.
• We may void predictions or points obtained by exploiting a fault in the app.

Supporter votes

Polls are run for supporters' interest. One vote per account, and a vote cannot be changed or withdrawn once cast — the app keeps no record of which option you chose, so there is nothing to change.

Results are published once voting closes.

Content in the app

Articles are published on Substack and remain the property of their authors. Videos remain the property of whoever posted them on Instagram. The app links to and displays them; it does not claim ownership of them.

Club names, crests and competition names belong to their respective owners and are used here to identify the teams and matches being discussed.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

• Attempt to gain access to accounts, data or parts of the service that are not yours.
• Use automated tools to read from or write to the app.
• Attempt to disrupt the service or the systems it depends on.

Availability

The app is provided as it is, for free, with no promise that it will always be available, complete or free of faults. Fixtures, results and articles come from other services, and we cannot promise they will be correct or up to date.

We may change or withdraw features, and may stop running the app altogether.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your profile.

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, in which case its scores may be removed from the leaderboard.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app, from information in it being wrong or unavailable, or from the predictions game. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
